The edible cars/ edible car contest

The students work in teams to build an edible car. The students can use toothpicks or skewers to hold the car together but other than that the car has to be totally edible.

The afterschool team will work with students to help them with skills including: working in collaborative groups, research, asking questions, problems solving, and using the engineering design process. The students design and prepare, built and the cars and then on STEM night they will race vehicles.

Some STEM skills include:

Science: Writing procedures, following procedures, asking questions, thinking things through.

Technology/Engineering: working through the engineering design process to produce their vehicle.

Mathematics: Drawing your model to scale.
